The Science Penguin is a who and a what. Originally, when I started my blog, I used “The Science Penguin” as my alias. Over time, The Science Penguin became a brand, but it also became a way of teaching. Reaching diverse students with varied backgrounds and interests is what The Science Penguin is all about. I want to help elementary teachers around the world to strengthen their faith in their abilities and provide high quality science instruction to all students.
Owner, The Science Penguin Incorporated
Ariane Huddleston received her B.A. in American Studies from the University of Texas at Austin and her M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Texas at San Antonio. She began teaching 5th grade science in 2008. Upon finding a shortage of effective differentiated science materials to help her diverse spectrum of students, she was motivated to develop her own resources. Her blog, The Science Penguin, chronicles her experiences with individualized instruction and her passion for science education. She currently lives in Austin having previously taught 4th and 5th grade in Central Texas. She now dedicates her time to conducting teacher workshops, creating elementary science materials, and writing her blog. Her goal is to constantly inspire teachers to set up their own unique and effective scientific learning environments that their students will love and embrace.
